Why this blog?

Well, hello world.  I'm Brittany.  But, you can call me "b."  I decided to re-enter the blogging world after a long break. I blogged for several years about my experience living in South Asia, but when I returned I felt my blog lacked purpose.  So, life went on, and I really missed blogging.

Lately, I've been praying for ways to be a voice and an advocate for things I'm passionate about, and the answer in my heart has consistently been, "blog." "Use the blog as a platform to tell others about the things that are important to you and to Me."

So, here it is. My attempt at using my voice.  My attempt at raising awareness of the plight of women and children enslaved by sex trafficking.  My attempt at highlighting organizations and individuals that seek to fight for the cause of the oppressed and the fatherless.

And along the way, I intend to share a little of me and my life with you as well.  My heart's desire is that I am continually a fragrant aroma of Christ to those around me.  I am always asking myself and the Lord, "how can I be the aroma of Christ today?" I'm learning that there are many ways.  It could be as simple as cooking a meal for someone or as involved as taking a trip half-way around the world to share His aroma with others.  Let the journey begin.

But, first, let me properly introduce myself.

I'm called "b" (little b) by my friends because I'm only 4'9" tall.

I became a follower of Jesus at nine years old.

I have an amazing, supportive network of family and friends for which I am eternally thankful.

I'm a graduate of The University of Georgia.  Go Dawgs!

I lived in India for two years as a missionary.

I currently reside in Alabama, as a transplant from the great state of Georgia.

I have one fur-baby, Bailey-- the sweetest pup you'll ever meet.

I love to craft, read, decorate, go "junking" and cook.

I'm b.  Nice to meet you.
